Eastern Shore Veterinary Hospital, established in 1979, is a fully equipped, 3-doctor small animal practice located in beautiful Porters Lake, NS. The clinic was a standalone building until 1988 when it was moved into the Lakeview Shopping Centre. The hospital grew with the surrounding communities and underwent an expansion in 2002. Eastern Shore Veterinary Hospital is a Cat Friendly Practice accredited at the Silver level.
Aside from companion animal care, our team also provides veterinary treatments to injured wildlife. The injured wildlife is then transferred to the Hope for Wildlife Centre in Seaforth for further rehabilitation and eventual release.
Our team receives a tremendous sense of fulfillment in playing an important role in our community, which we are proud to be a part of. Porters Lake is a tranquil and rural region that is approximately 30 minutes away from Dartmouth by car. All year round, we enjoy various recreational activities that include camping, water skiing and freshwater lake fishing. Our town is also within close proximity to many local attractions such as the Porter’s Lake Provincial Park, the Maritime Museum of Natural History and Fisherman’s Cove.
